Hello everyone, and welcome back to Fearless Family Travel. Here we are in June – yes June already! However, i’m sitting here writing this and it’s pouring with rain outside! I do hope there is some better weather around the corner. We love this time of year as we can get outside more, but we would love some sunshine.
I’m ashamed to say we’re still getting our summer holidays planned. Hopefully, i’m not the only one! If you’re still seeking inspiration then take a look at some possible family travel adventures for 2019.
What I’ve been up to…
Since I last hosted the link up we’ve been on a wonderful family holiday to Oman. Our trip started with a few days road tripping to the mountains and desert in Oman. Our itinerary took us to Jebel Akhdar, in the mountains, and some unexpected flooding due to a storm (very unusual in Oman), before we headed to the Wahiba Sands and a night in the desert. From there we hit the beach in Muscat at the fantastic family friendly Shangri-La Al Waha. Oman is a really diverse country with mountains, desert and coastline, and surprisingly easy to drive around in a rented 4WD.
Over the early May bank holiday weekend we headed to Snowdonia with three other families for some fun and adventure. We hiked on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, went paint-balling (for the first time) and mountain biked in Coed-Y-Fenin. We stayed in the wonderful cabans (welsh for cabins) at Riverside Camping, definitely worth a look if you’re heading to Snowdonia. This part of Wales is a favourite of ours and it’s become an annual trip for us.
And we’ve just got back from a fantastic week in Cornwall, another of our favourite areas in the UK. We stay in Post Issac on the north Cornish coast, made famous by the television series Doc Martin, which they just happened to be filming while we were there. We spent most of our time at the beach, Rock and Polzeath are our favourites, and managed to squeeze in a trip to Padstow. Now the boys are older we tend to spend a lot of time body boarding!
