Claigan Coral beaches on Skye

Fearless Family Travel #30

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Fearless Family Travel. Can you believe it’s the 1st April? I can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by! It’s almost the easter holidays and we’re really excited for our trip to Oman. Have you got anything booked? We’ve planned a mix of sightseeing and chill time at the beach. It’s a country we know well as we lived in Oman for a while pre-kids, but i’m sure things will have changed since our last visit. But more on that next time…

Spring has definitely sprung in the UK. I love this time of year. The clocks have gone forward and the evenings are lighter, the blossom is out, it is a little warmer, and it’s time to ditch the jumpers and boots. It’s a perfect time of year to get outside and do some hiking, so if you’re looking for a hike either in the UK or elsewhere then check out these posts – Family Friendly Hiking in the UK or Best Family Hikes Around the World.

Hiking Snowdon with kids

What I’ve been up to…

Winter is often a quiet time on the travel front for us but we’ve managed a couple of trips away since I hosted the last link up. First up was our annual ski trip, which is probably the boys favourite holiday of the whole year! For the last few years we’ve headed to Whistler in Canada and this year was no different. We love the amazing skiing that’s on offer and the fantastic kids ski school. They’re all great skiers now, so it’s all about the jumps, bumps and off piste with them.

Some of you will already know, things didn’t go quite to plan for me. Unfortunately my mum was poorly and taken into hospital just before we were due to fly to Canada, so I stayed home and the boys went without me. It was really strange being home alone, and not something I want to get used too!

I’ve been super quiet on here of late because things didn’t go quite to plan over half term!! We were due to go skiing ⛷ in Whistler, Canada 🇨🇦 but my mum got really quite poorly so I didn’t get to go. Dave and the boys still went, with another family. It was really strange with them all being away, not something i’d want to get used too! Thankfully mum is now much better and the boys arrived home yesterday 🥳. It was great to see them all 😍. Will be sharing some snowy pics over the next few days. .. Closer to home, we’ve been exploring some of the fantastic castles we have here in Wales. We’ve a fair few around us in South Wales, but my favourite has to be Caernarfon in Snowdonia. It is a huge fortress which dominates the town of Caernarfon, with much of the castle remaining intact still today.

Did you know that Wales has over 100 castles? It’s no wonder it’s often referred to as the land of castles. Originally there would have been about 600! Now that’s a lot of castles in a small country. .. .. Snowdonia has its fair share of castles. Caernarfon (pictured here) being one of the most impressive. Hop over to the blog for a three day itinerary in Snowdonia, which includes a castle or two! We’ve also just enjoyed a long weekend in Dubai, without the kids. It was wonderful to get some much needed sunshine and just chill. Strangely for us, we didn’t rush around seeing all the sights and seeking out adventurous pursuits, but instead we sat by the pool and did nothing! It was bliss and we’ve come back suitably refreshed.

Cheers all…here’s to a new week. The weekend has flown by. We’ve had a sneaky weekend away. Just what the doctor ordered. We’ve done nothing but rest and relax. It’s not typical us but just what we needed after a super busy few weeks and me being under the weather. Dubai has provided the necessary sunshine and chill time. .. Happy Monday. Hope everyone’s had a good weekend. .. .. .. #mondaymotivation #happymonday #familytravel #familytravelblogger #visitdubai #dubai #oneandonlyroyalmirage #dubaiinstagram #lovindubai #sunandsand #fearlessfamtrav #mummyblogger #traveltheglobe #mumofboys #travelmadfam #travelwithkids #wanderlustmomblogger #ukftb #neverstopexploring #takeyourkidseverywhere #traveljunkies #travelasmuchasyoucan #goadventuretogether #outdoorfamily #getoutside #lovelife #adventurekids #happytime #sunseasand
