Day 1 – Shanghai

Just to record the moment….Day 1 after landing in China on Wednesday 10th August 2016….and a family photo to mark the day.

What a bustling and modern city Shanghai is!  The day has been spent walking along the wonderful embankment area known as The Bund…with grand nineteenth century architecture on one side of the river and skyscrapers galore on the other side, including the worlds second tallest building…Shanghai Tower at 632m and 128 floors.  Some great noodles, dumplings and rice got the tastebuds up to speed rapidly…and then a night time walk back along the Bund…when the city really comes alive!

  • What a great adventure you have ahead of you. I’m looking forward to following your progress and looking at the photos. Nothing but admiration for you all, this is the sort of thing people talk about but to actually get out there and do it takes some courage. Safe travels, Kay
