A Few Days in Noosa

Australia

Noosa is a resort town with a stunning natural landscape of beautiful beaches and tropical rainforests. Just say the word “Noosa” and a touch of glamour comes to mind. This chic beachside town gets under your skin and gives you the kind of beach holiday memories you’ll talk about for years. It’s a place that balances designer shopping and celebrity-chef restaurants with a chilled-out vibe and a fantastic beach. We loved it, even though we only had three nights here before we headed to Melbourne for Christmas. It was no surprise to us to hear that it was one of Australia’s most sought-after holiday destinations.

Noosa encompasses three main zones: Noosa Heads, Noosaville and Noosa Junction. We were staying in Noosaville, just around the corner from the river and many great restaurants.

Noosa is a famous surfing destination, and Main Beach right in town is a favourite spot for locals to surf the waves, and for beginners to get a surfing lesson. Alternatively you can take out a paddle or boogie board. Noosa Main Beach is one of the only north-facing beaches on the east coast of Australia, and because it’s sheltered with gentle waves it makes for a family friendly beach. The water is clear at a nice temperature, and the sand clean and soft. As far as town beaches go, this is up there with the best. This is the type of beach Australia is famous for! We spent an afternoon at Main Beach with the boys happily playing in the surf.img_4655

Whilst in Noosa we had to explore the many waterways. Dave and I rented paddle boards, the boys preferring to take to a pedalo. We paddle boarded and pedalled to some of the sand flats in the Noosa River. It was great fun apart from the moment we entered the jet ski circuit! We were able to walk on the sand flats, enjoying the beautiful views.

Pelican Beach was just around the corner from the apartments. Here we spotted a couple of friendly pelicans.

There are many excellent restaurants in Noosa. We enjoyed some great food, particularly the seafood. Two restaurants we loved are Gusto and Little Humid, both located on the river front in Noosaville.

 WHERE WE STAYED

We stayed at the Montpellier Boutique Resort in Noosaville, in a large two bedroom apartment. This was a perfect location just around the corner from the river and many great restaurants.
